Covered systems include access control, video management and security cameras, and identity management (badging) systems. These components are critical to safeguarding airport operations and ensuring compliance with Federal Airport Security Regulations outlined in 49 CFR Part 1542. The contract is essential to ensure these systems remain reliable, secure, minimizing downtime and enabling rapid issue resolution. This single contract will replace two existing contracts which expire on January 31, 2026 and November 7, 2026. The requested authorization amount is based on pricing for software, hardware, equipment, implementation services, and maintenance submitted in response to the solicitation, as well as departmental estimates to cover additional on-site support hours and anticipated expansion of access points resulting from ongoing construction projects during the life of this contract. The recommended contractor is the contractor on the existing contracts. This is a specialized service, and while a solicitation was issued to try and get competition, even after extending the deadline, no other responses from other contractors were received. An evaluation team with expertise in this area evaluated the offer and scored Convergint Technologies LLC as qualified to provide these goods and services based on company/personnel experiences and references, project concept and strategy, project management and organization structure, price, local business preference, and small business preference. Failure to award this contract may pose risks to airport security operations and compliance with applicable Federal and City of Austin regulations such as the City of Austin Information Security and Privacy policy and Federal Regulation Part 1542 on Airport Security.
