This system is utilized by Aviation’s operations and security teams, the Transportation Security Administration, Customs and Border Protection, and Austin Police Department to ensure safety, security, compliance, and to support operational needs. Current goals include upgrades to aging and obsolete cameras, addressing network and cabling issues, resolving faulty equipment, and adapting to changing view requirements. This is a new service contract for Aviation with estimates based on market research and contractor analysis to determine the most qualified contractor to provide the services. Convergint Technologies, LLC, is uniquely positioned to deliver hardware expertise alongside technological integration due to their involvement as an initial installation and system integrator for Aviation’s existing CCTV system. This contractor has legacy knowledge and expertise on the system layout and configurations which greatly reduces the learning curve in support of the aging CCTV infrastructure. This system history allows Aviation to take advantage of their knowledge through better use of internal resources to resolve identified problems more efficiently. The Sourcewell cooperative is a cooperative purchasing association recognized under Texas procurement statutes. Cooperative associations, themselves or using a lead government, competitively solicit and award contracts that are eligible for use by other qualified state and local governments. Due to their substantial volumes, larger than any one government could achieve independently, cooperative contracts routinely include superior terms, conditions, and pricing. Use of cooperative contracts also results in lower administrative costs and time savings. If this contract is not approved, Aviation would not be able to safely monitor and control security at the airport. City of Austin Page 2 of 2 Printed on 2/28/2025 powered by Legistar™
