Description of Recommendation to Council Please see attached Rationale: The Journey with AUS near-term improvements and long-term expansion and development projects outlined here https://www.austintexas.gov/AUSJourney will provide opportunities to cultivate new business relationships yet many contracts awarded are to firms with past or current experience at the airport. Many contracts are awarded as contract extensions, proprietary services, or other methods that prevent underrepresented firms to be considered and awarded for new work. It is the intention of this recommendation to encourage, measure, and report the involvement of a diverse array of firms that benefit from the business opportunities with the City and in accordance with the requirements of federally funded programs.
