This upgraded infrastructure will support the increased demands of the expanded airport and ensure future growth can be accommodated. The Design Consultant will provide design, bidding, and construction administration services. The UICW project is an enabling project for the Airport Expansion and Development Program including the Central Utility Plant (CUP) Relocation and Concourse B/Tunnel. Any delay to the UICW project will impact the CUP and Concourse B/Tunnel activation schedule. The Department of Aviation intends to apply for federal airport improvement program grants to partially fund this project. The limits of this project are within the boundaries of the airport campus, and no impacts to the surrounding community are anticipated as a result of this project. This request allows for the development of an agreement with the selected firm. If the City is unsuccessful in negotiating a satisfactory agreement with the selected firm, negotiations will cease with that firm. Staff will return to Council so another qualified firm may be selected, authorizing new contract negotiations. This project is located within zip code 78719 (District #2).
